Joining Kathy Davis Studios in 2009, Melissa Schulz brings nearly 15 years experience in trend analysis, creative design and product development to the company. As Vice President she is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development and growth of Kathy Davis Studios’ licensing business, supporting its collection of four brand names.

Recently serving as an artist agent and creative consultant with Sequel Designs & Licensing, Schulz represented an array of artists in successful licensing efforts with C.R. Gibson, Ex-Cell Home Fashions, Morning Sun, Papyrus and Westminster Fibers, among others. In addition, as a freelance art director and graphic designer with Katie’s Mom, a creative and marketing solutions company she created, Schulz consulted with clients including professional artists and giftware companies where she delivered brand style guides, customized artwork and designer packaging, and created the Katie’s Mom branded line of custom jewelry.

Earlier in her career as Managing Art Director for InterArt/Sunrise Greetings, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Schulz studied the card and gift industry, along with the fashion and home décor marketplace, to successfully set the company’s creative direction and tactical execution.

Schulz attended Indiana University where she studied fine art and education. She currently resides in Bloomington, In., with her husband and two daughters.
