Bringing expansive retail and wholesale industry experience to Kathy Davis Designs, Inc., President and Chief Operating Officer John Mavrakis draws on his deep executive expertise with brand titans Hallmark, Discovery Channel, The Body Shop, Intl., and The Gap/Banana Republic to strategize and execute the mission of company brands Kathy Davis®, The Studio at Kathy Davis®; Portfolio – Kathy Davis Studios™; and Fred and Lorraine™.

Earlier in his career, Mavrakis quickly ascended the ranks of The Gap where he earned a senior management title. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed vice president of stores for Banana Republic responsible for the company’s meteoric rise and national launch. Tapping his industry skill, Mavrakis also helped develop Streamers, a chain of highly recognized party goods stores in California; managed the U.S. western territory as vice president/general manager for The Body Shop, Intl.; and led the Discovery Channel’s retail operation.

In 2000, looking to create a new branding and product strategy for one of its subsidiary brands, Hallmark approached Mavrakis to develop and articulate its product and sales message. As senior vice president of product, marketing and national sales, he was responsible for all product decisions, including marketing and licensing strategies.

Now with Kathy Davis Designs, Inc., Mavrakis is embracing his knowledge of both brand and consumer to create yet another superbrand relative to his dynamic past.

Mavrakis earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and psychology, both from the University of Colorado
